Upper Hutt City - in touch with "The World " literally and eggstatic !


Emu eggs from Upper Hutt have ended up on the menu of one the most exclusive Cruise Ships in the world. Upper Hutt City Council has an objective in its long term plan of " Keeping in touch with the world ".

Yesterday that objective was literally fulfilled.City Promotion Manager Paul Lambert had noted the the cruise ship "The World " was visiting Wellington and decided to offer the on-board Executive Chef a gift of some emu eggs to scramble for the crew and the famous Akatarawa blueberry fudge to taste from Bluebank Blueberry and Emu Farm.

Chef Butti asked if he could purchase two dozen emu eggs for serving to their exclusive clients. These were secured from Lendrums Farm in Upper Hutt.

Upper Hutt i-SITE staff member Elaine Barnden delivered the emu eggs and blueberry fudge to the ship yesterday -photo attached.
